Well, I got my BM 49-01, it is number 018/100, so masse, you probably did get # 013. :) You'll love it, believe me, it is scary to flip once you feel how friggin' sharp it is, the blade grazed my fingers and I got cut (literally grazed), the blade curves just after the tang aren't perfectly curved for some reason, little indentions.
The Cocobolo on mine has some great grain to it, I'll try to get some pics up if I can figure out how to make my POS website work. The spring loaded latch is really sweet, the whole knife is really quiet and very smooth, almost no play whatsoever in the handles, it really is a fantastic piece!!!! :D

So, good luck masse getting number 013!!!! :)

Congrats Cameron. #18 if very fitting, considering your age. Now for the $64,000 question: Do you dare to do any ariels with this one? ;)

Air Cameron, Air Cameron he's our man,
If he can't do it, no one can.

Personally, given the scary sharpness of the blade, I wouldn't even think of it. :(

Cameron, Congrats Man!! I'm sorry the number thing caused so much confusion but as you now know, and i will soon know, just holding one of these obviously disperses any hard feelings:D Glad you like it man, and can't wait to see some pics!!

Too late, I already tried one (and successfully landed it) after about 15 minutes of flipping it. I flip this thing extremely carefully, but I can't get away from those aerials. :D There are aerials I will never try with it, I'll probably just stick to the basic aerial, all the others I do are way to dangerous for a scalpel-sharp, zero ground, double edged, hollow ground, satin finished kris blade :)

Cameron, it's really not fair to tease me like this before i've recieved mine. Isn't torture illegal in this country anyway?? ;)

Glad you got yours Cameron! Very cool! I'm sending you some Kevlar gloves and your own "In-Home" Paramedic for the cuts (early X-Mas present)!

Masse.., I called the IRS.., and they said there is a loop-hole in the "no torture" clause in the Constitution ~~> sorry :( Let us know when you get yours too!

I'm still waitin' for the hard helmet to come for while I am using the Monarch, of course I'm also still waiting for the Monarch

:D :D

masse: did I mention that I love the weight of the handles and that the cocobolo wood is beautiful, or how sweet the spring loaded latch is and how I wish it was on all my Bali-Songs!!! :D ;)

Well BalisongMan, after yesterdays mail delivery i would have to agree with everything you said about what makes this knife so superior:D I am indeed now the happy new owner of 49-01 #013! Allthough i will restrain myself from flipping this peice i did of course have to sneak in a quik latch drop.

One thing i didnt realize was that only the SPL's got the wooden box, i was under the immpression that all the 49's would come with wood. I wonder if there is any way to get an (un-numbered of course) wood display box from BM like the SPL's came with??
