I ordered a D'Allara drop point. I could not resist that cute blade. Normally I like a flat ground blade, but this one looks too usefull to pass up.
I have wanted a VG10 blade in something larger than a Calypso Jr. I could not wrap my mind around anything thus far, until this one. I like the R2, but the truss handle, i may not like, don't know, maby later.
Any way the item that took me over the edge was, the handle is screwed together not peened. Of course the ball lock is a selling point for me, I like the DODO's lock. Also the Axis lock is nearly the same... solid lock.
I hope I like it!

I just ordered one as well. I love my original D'Allara rescue. That thing is a tank and cuts through anything. I cut through an old shoe with it. It's huge, so I really only carry it around the farm when I'm wearing jeans or Carharrts. I think this drop point should make this my ideal outdoor/farm knife.

Great news that they're out there!

Who's stocking them? Did you go to SFO, an online dealer, or some brx'n mortar?

Best regards.

NGK (New Graham Knives, newgraham.com) "had some" and where I bought mine., also Grand Prairie Knives, gpknives.com.
You know I just noticed the blade shape is much like my old Spyderco Bob Terzuola. I must take that one out and compare them when it arrives.
How is the ball lock action? It looks to be improved over the Dodo, like they widened the opening around the ball.

Nice design. I'm curious too about how you find the lock's ease of operation.

Can someone post pics showing it in-hand and also the thickness of the handle when they get them? I've got a feeling I'm going to have to put this on "the list" pretty soon. :D
