Got a Dragonfly for my birthday

Woo-hoo! My first Spyderco. A lightweight, plainedge Dragonfly. My wife gave it to me.

It's so lightweight, she likes it, too. Who knows, I may be buying one for her.

A classy little knife.

My only problem now is, I'm running out of pockets!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Spyderco. If I were a betting man(I'm not), I'd bet this want be your first and last. I'm crazy about my lt.w Dragonfly. Try the Native next , you want be able to put it down. You'll also need a 204 Sharpmaker, to keep that edge just right. RKBA!

The Dragonfly is one of my favorites! A "larger" version (kinda) is the Calypso Jr.
These are similar, but bigger. Try it you'll like it...Ed.

I suspect that most of us here understand all too well.

Have you thought about getting a kydex belt or neck sheath? My wife and I both love ours from Mike Sastre (River City Sheathes). Normark (On/Scene Tactical) also has a great reputation.

A belt sheath might be overdoing it. People are going to start staring soon. I already carry either a SwissTool or Wave on my belt as is, along with the obligatory cell phone.

A neck sheath is worth investigating, however. That may just work for me. About how much are they?

How much is a 204 Sharpmaker, where would I get one, and can I use it on other pocket knives as well?

Ahhhh, Spydercos, the gift that keeps on giving. There is no better way to say I love you than a sharp Spyderco. You will really like the Dragonfly. It is an awesome knife and a great size for an EDC. I like mine alot and I consider it one of my faves. You should also try the Cricket. It is another one of my EDCs. As for myself, I wish my girlfriend would get me a knife as a gift. She promised me a Toad for Valentines Day but that seems to have fallen through. DOH!

Cardimon, look around at the different sponsers(Knife center of the Internet...etc) on the Blade Forums for a deal on the 204. When you get it just watch all of the outstanding video(included), and learn from the master, Sal. It sharpens most everything in the home. RKBA!

For a neck sheath, check out either SFO or Blade Art. They both carry Mike Sastre's neck sheaths. I do not remember the pricing, but I own few of his neck sheaths and they are well worth the price.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is SFO?

I sure do like the Dragonfly. Handy size, useful blade.

My wife had to open some packages and I let her choose from my SOG CrossCut, Victorinox SwissTool, and Dragonfly. She chose the Dragonfly. I think she likes it, too.

i got a dragonfly because i was desperately looking for a lightweight knife with a legal blade length to carry all the time, either at work or anywhere else. words just cannot describe how impressed i am with my lightweight dragonfly. i carry it with the clip outside, inside my pants, to the left of my navelbahind the first bel loop of my pants. it just plain disappears! and, i do not notice i have it. the blade (plain) is AMAZING! sharp as only a spydie can be, and LOTS of belly. great utility, and a nice piece for the last ditch action... i love the handle, fits my hand perfectly, and the finger bumps (sic) so my hand always ahs it held correctly. also, it has not scared any person i ahve shown it to (in terms of the 'WTF is THAT' factor) so i feel totally comfortable having it (as i deal with police and sheriff's deputies on a regular basis). all in all, just simply an incredible knife. i was cnsidering an SS version, but the lightweight is a HUGE plus, and the CF is maybe next on my list. all i can say is "Bravo Spyderco" and Sal. thanks for making my favorite knife!
