Hi all,

I got a package of dangerous things that have laser etched skull and knife logo's on them today!

First of all, the blades I received came directly from Rowen Manufacturing, so the serial #'s might be a good indicator of about how many of each knife have actually been produced up to this point. If that is true, congrats to the boys at ESEE for passing the 1000 mark for the Junglas, and for making more than 15,000 of the original Izula!

Second of all, my ESEE collection continues to grow. My stripped Junglas with the patina had to go bye bye, so here is my new one, and another Izula joins the family. Those two newbies along with my ESEE-4 and my older Izula are a pretty nice collection so far. I'm going to be adding the 5 at some point, that's the next on my list. The older Izula is going to get gifted to a friend. Hopefully I can turn him into a knife geek too.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the post! Yes, the serial numbers are accurate.

What're you doin' with your old Junglas? If I remember correctly, that thing was a Beauty!!

I was wondering that myself???? JGON theres an awful lot of blade coating in those pics, you better get to strippin those bad boyz...lol:D

I called to check on my two week old Junglas order today and they told me it would probably me a couple more weeks until they got more in stock to fill orders..:( I shall patiently wait in the fetal position sucking my thumb

I'd be interested to know who you called? Problem is a lot of dealers are blaming us for the delays. We are still running about 2-3 weeks out as we have always been but the dealers refuse to stock large enough inventories so they blame us when they sell out of the 4 or 5 pieces of the one model they bought. In other words, instead of just saying "hey we didn't order enough to start with" it's much easier for them to say that ESEE is running behind. Not true.

Hahaha yeah you guys are right! Well, it's actually an interesting story...

I put up a few pics (ok, maybe not a few) of my stripped Junglas early on in it's life, and then I sanded the patina off and went with just a "user satin finish" on it. I put up some pics of that, and none other than Shon Rowen himself stumbled across a few of the pics. He messaged me about the knife, saying that there was a cosmetic blemish on the knife that shouldn't be there, and he asked me if I could send it in for him to look at. He said there would be a brand new Junglas waiting for me if I agreed. I reluctantly obliged. I loved my old Junglas, but by giving it back to Rowen, I helped them better their operation, so I was happy to help.

That just goes to show you the customer service offered up by all of these guys at ESEE AND at Rowen.

The ESEE-4, new Junglas, and the new Izula are all newbies. Once their coating starts to wear, they are all getting stripped and then I might try that grapefruit patina that everyone has been hootin' and hollerin' about around here!

I did too...
Picked up another Izula II, and another AH 1.
I'll post some picks later tonight if any body wants to see 'em.

The coolest thing... I picked up my Izzy II about a couple weeks ago,
today I get another just one serial number lower.
Consecutive serial Numbers... how awsome is that?

Great story! I can't wait to see how you rough up the new guys.

Shon & I looked at the pics during the SHOT Show of the Junglas and the funky spot.... Glad you took Shon up on his offer

I don't know much about this, but just an idea to check out. UPS has a drop ship program for businesses. They store your inventory, and when a customer buys from a site (all your dealers), the knife is packaged and shipped off from UPS and the dealer doesn't have to hold on to any inventory nor does the item have to be shipped from you to the dealer and then to the customer.

Not sure what that would cost, but just a thought.

Nice Junglas by the way. I've been waiting on one for a couple weeks from chestnut ridge.

Sounds like most companies that choose to under stock their inventories. in life its so much easier for the lames to point their finger as opposed to manning up to their mistake.

Norseman thats just another company being cheap imho, but that drop shipment program is great alot of e-bay sellers use that type of thing

JGON nice new knives btw & when my blades start to wear i'm definitely thinking about that grapefruit patina as well

Thanks for sharing JGON.

True example of standing firm behind a product. Must have been hard to let go.

What happens to the blades after inspection in this type of case?

Just goes to show that Shon is the man; he can spot a defect on a well used and reworked knife from a photo. Hell I heard he can also see through walls, is faster than a mall ninja speeding in their mother's car, and can stop slicing Izulas with his bare hands.

I heard that he drives cars for TopGear under the psuedonym: The Stig

I cannot wait until my Junglas arrives directly from their factory in Idaho. I am really itching to tear up some brush! And look cool while doing it ;).
