I got my CF EDC yesterday. It is all I had hoped for and more. I do have a couple of questions. How does he do the blade finish? It doesn't really look beadblast, but its not what I would call satin either.

ALso what does the M on the clip stand for?

Dennis, Darrel uses ceramic shot to get the finish on the blade. The use of ceramic shot seems to be relatively new, at least how Darrel does it. I haven't seen another knife with a finish like it. The M stands for Millenium, meaning the knife was made in the new millenium. Darrel sure is clever.

To add what Dirk says, the ceramic bead blast peens the surface of the blade and not cutting into it like the other methods of blasting. You will find that the ceramic finish will not rust at all. I love the two tone blade finish DDR is using now, great for using knives.

My MADD MAXX has the same finish and it just seems to get better with age! I also like that two-tone look acheived.

More and better than abrasive and glass bead.

As for the credit on the cermic peening. I penned the ceramic peen name. I feel its not a grit blast at all. Its a Peen!
KIT CARSON !
He introed the media to a few makers.

Kit uses it on his knives also.

I like it very much.

Thanks KIT

I wondered how Kit did that! I mentioned it in passing in a post a couple months ago and no one said anything. I like it much better than bead blast, on blades anyway.
