I got my first ZT a couple of days ago (350). I was wondering how you guys sharpened the recurve blade. I usually hand sharpen with some type of stone but it looks like you would need a very narrow stone to do this. Also, I was wondering why knife makers use the torx head screws on their knives. I went to switch positions of my pocket clip and like so many knives i've had before, one screw grabbed and one was a little too big to grab. It's almost like it's a diffrent size. It seems to me that a small phillips head would be better. I don't mean for this to be a diss on ZT it's happened on several diffrent knives I've owned in the past. Thanks.

Consider picking up a spyderco sharpemaker to handle the recurves. There are other options, but that's really the best option for the price.

As for the torx screws, I assume they're used because they're very hard to cam out unlike phillips which were designed to cam out. They're also more aesthetically appealing in my opinion.

+1 for the Sharpmaker. I hated sharpening recurves until I got mine. Now they are just as easy as any straight edge knife.

I have had the same problem with some benchmades and other brands. I found that some screws came overtightened and loosening them messed up my driver. So when i tried again the twisted driver caused the screws to strip. I thought i had a decent $50 set that i bought at work off of the Matco truck but i guess not.

A round ceramic rod does wonders for a recurve.
Defiantly do not use a phillips, maybe if you have a flathead that fits nice and tight.

I spent 8 bucks on a husky torx set from the depot and its worked great on all my zt's

+1 on the sharpmaker
+1on the Husky torx set

I've only stripped one screw with it but it was my own doing. Tried to get it too tight. Use it correctly and its just about a perfect tool.

The Sharpmaker will sharpen just about anything, and do it well.

I just ordered my sharpmaker today, can't wait for it to come lol I have a small line of knives that needs sharpening haha

I concur with the Sharpmaker. The edge of the sharpening rods handle curves very well. When you switch to the flat side, however, you'll have to keep a close eye on the blade edge to make sure that it stays on the rod much as possible. It requires some practice to develop a the right technique, but it comes with an instructional DVD to help you along.
