Got my new small sebenza!

Well after waiting 6 months to get a small sebenza I finally got one. First i have to mention that i've only handled Spydercos and one old Benchmade Stryker and never anything higher. Never even seen a custom in real life before. I have read every sebenza post and was kind of expecting to be disapointed somehow by my sebenza. Just like how everyone overhyped the Star Wars movie and was expecting it to be awsome and it didn't live up to their expectations. But underhyped the Matrix movie and when they saw it they were blown away. Well when i finally got the sebenza i have to say i wasnt' disapointed at all. (well i was disapointed a little cuz it was a tad smaller than i expected it to be.) Everything said about it is true. It's super-smooth and locks up perfect. At first I had some trouble closing it one-handed but it seems i've found a way. CJ was such a pleasure to deal with, thanks again CJ! Love this knife.
Woo Hoo! My knife count is now up to 2!

John, welcome to the club. Unfortunately, like many Sebenza owners, you may soon find yourself wanting a large one, then an Umfaan, then maybe a decorated or two. Good luck resisting the temptation.

Johnny,

I too, just got a small plain Sebenza. I have been wanting one for quite a while and finally took the plunge. I haven't been let down with this knife at all. I actually equate getting the Sebenza more to seeing the original Terminator movie than the Matrix, although the Matrix is terrific. Star Wars was a little more like a couple of older Emersons that I had, great looks and design, but minor let downs in the execution. The size of the small Sebenza is actually quite perfect for most all situations and is less likely to get you in trouble than the large. There is always the Spyderco Military for your larger blade needs (you will have to get one of these too, ya know). Congrats and welcome to the club!

Later,
Chris

I can't believe you-only your second knife and already a Sebenza!

I think that I purchased well over 100 knives before discovering the Sebenza. Good Work!

You have shown clearly excellent taste in knives.

Daniel, I have learned so much from these forums. I went straight for the good stuff, first the Delica and now a sebenza. No beating around the bush for me hehe.

Get the large...then a decorated...then an Umfaan...then a divorce...

i too just bought my first sebenza at a gun and knife show this weakend. as soon as i saw it i had to have. i had to borrow money from my buddy to buy.and by the way its a large decorated with what looks like a star burst in blue. i love it, a can't leave it alone and can't wait to get another.

John -- you've proven to be a wise ELU! Quality does beat quantity. Congrats on your Sebenza. Now where's that emoticon showing a face green with envy....

Congrats also! I've increased my allotment up so I can gather more of them, got a new large and small and an older large one, plus I might be trading for an older small one soon, still saving for the spear Umfaan, but that too will happen quickly, maybe at the Blade Show?

Keep buying and don't be afraid to use them, they are workers!
