Just a few days ago I finaly made the last payment and took home my H&K USP compact .45 acp. I got it used with Trijicon night sights and one of those slip on grips for $600. I also bought a Desantis Millennium Speed Scabbard. I tryed out the gun on Weds and all I can say is, I LOVE THIS PISTOL. No malfunctions, no problems, nothing bad to say at all. It was accurate, reliable, and just plain easy to shoot. I am very happy with this gun and I think I've found my cold weather carry gun It also came with the original case and two mags. All in all I am very pleased with this purchase. Worth every penny!

I'm surprised how few select USP's for CCW, they offer a combination of features nobody else does. They are expensive, though, and I was surprised to find out how much factory 8rd mags were. To me, they make more sense for CCW than a 1911 (USP is safer and often, more reliable), Glock (loaded gun with no manual safety and easily actuated trigger sometimes leads to trouble), SIG or Beretta (no SA only option).

The Variant 1 combination offers the "cocked and locked" SA option, as well as standard DA/SA mode with the hammer down on a loaded chamber. Nobody else offers that versatility.

Excellent choice, enjoy your new gun.

I agree. I'm always in constant war with people on thefiringline.com about the USP series. Many complain they are overpriced, that the ads appeal to op wannabes... as mentioned, they have great features.

Accurate, reliable, lightweight, TOUGH AS NAILS, ability to carry in condition 1 like a 1911, etc.

Sounds like you got a good deal on one, congrats.
