Got my ZDP-189 Calypso Jr.

Pretty nice little knife. Very sharp out of the box. Fairly lightweight too so should be a decent EDC in my scrubs. Will be interesting to see how it does, granted I expect it will do better than my Ka-Bar Dozier. Well when I do manage to dull this knife what angle do I use on the Spyderco Sharpmaker? Also will I need to buy the diamond rods to sharpen it?

If you only have a Sharpmaker, then you'll need to use the 30 degree settiing. As this steel is extremely hard, my recomendation is to not let it get dull as you'll never put a new edge on it with the Sharpmaker.

I'd personally strop it every day if you've used it. Maybe a little light work on the Sharpmaker set to 30.

Well so far I have opened up 2 supply shipments and it is still shaving sharp but has a slight bit of drag. Might sharpen it a bit tonight.
