I looking to purchase a laptop from system 76 but I cannot decide which graphics card is better. Here are the choices:

1.)1 GB nVidia GeForce
2.)1 GB nVidia Quadro FX

what are the pros and cons of each one or which is better.

the Quatro line is not really for gaming or consumer graphics, it is intended for digital content creation and 3d engineering software like CAD. if you want to use the laptop for gaming and movies and such then you absolutely want the Geforce. the Geforce 9xxx series cards offer good price/performance with moderate gaming, but if you want to do really heavy high res gaming or blu-ray movies then you'll want to look into the GTS and GTX mobile series. I would personally recommend a Geforce 9700m or higher.

For gaming Geforce, preferably the 9xxx series. I own a 9800 and it's awesome.

For work related stuff the quattro series.

I got the same:thumbup:
Any of the 9 Series GeForce cards will work GREAT for 99% of the games out there

thanks guys! I'm about 10 years removed from gaming (hrs. Spent on FF7 caused me to re-evaluate my life:o) what are the top pc games out there?

My personal favorite shooter is Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (free demo can be downloaded from the website). Although Unreal Tournament 3 is pretty good as well.

Tactical game: Command and Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars.

Stealth: Assasin's Guild is pretty cool.

Other than that I play mostly abandonware games and older games.
