All: Just wanted to say what a fine experience I just had dealing with Rob Frink of Beaumont Metalworks. I had a bearing sieze on the idler wheel of my (old) Sears 6 x 48 sander. The whole wheel was shot, and I had a stack of knives to grind.
I called Rob, then emailed him the dimensions and he built me a new idler wheel with precision bearings and a custom shaft that fit perfectly and works perfectly. The best part was, I just told him "Look-I need it fast-If you can do it fast, just name your price". He was very gracious to work overtime to get it done in 2 days!. And, his price was VERY REASONABLE.
That was Wednesday. The new part arrived Yesterday and is going to see some hard use as soon as I finish this thread.

If you need something made right, to your specs, and for a great price, call Rob. He's DA MAN.

RJ,

Thanks for the unsolicited plug! I was very pleased with the way the roller turned out and I enjoyed machining it.

I really enjoy "special" projects and I truly appreciate the business.

Have fun with it,
Rob

I think I'm gonna definetly have to get some help from Rob soon with my grizzly :)

I've been thinking of a way to put a small wheel attachment on it, using the extended motor shaft as a drive wheel so I could use 1x30 belts on the small wheel attachement, and not have to fool with the 2x72 part of the grinder :) or maybe a mini machine for a small wheel. IE run a small 1x30 make for a small wheel attachment from the aux arm with pulleys. Hmmm.

RJ, saw some of your blades at Cubeta's. Wow!!! I love that grind all the way to the edge, way too cool!
