That last one was fun, let’s try it again. One of the makers here on BFC sent me this pic. This is a new knife inspired by one of the greats. It is Not For Sale.

#1. See if you can Guess Who the Maker is? #2. What knife inspired this one?
Now, the Key Word is GUESS. If you know who the maker is, that's not a guess is it?
Make a comment here if you like, but please don't blow it for the folks that don't know and want to play.

Once again this is just for fun and no prizes will be awarded and please no wagering.

I have no idea who made the actual knife, but the handle shape is straight off a Lynn Griffith knife. Nice snakewood!

Dan, I can't beleive you said that name. It gets Phil crazy, kinda like like the 3 stooges and Niagara Falls :D

The blue towel that covers the scanner makes me think of a knife I saw today on BF covered with the same stuff ... by Robert Hankins. There are lots of blue towels though :D

Added just for Flava and other textile collectors:

#3A. What Brand of towel was used in the photograph?
#3B. What size was used a) Wash Cloth b) Hand Towel c) Bath Sheet.

hey,
i know.
its the same guy that made some other knife i saw once. had a blade and everything. he made it for some guy who ordered it.
yeah,thats the one :)

i have no idea -
but the blade remembers me to my CRKT M16/03
so i would guess : Kit Carson

but then i miss the flipper

Something about those grind lines just screams Neil Blackwood...

Probably wrong, but you did say guess :)

I'll say Bob Doggett.Inspired by Brian Tighe "Tighe Pan",spear point.Be kind PhilL.:)

Looks like one of Lester Rodeocker's pieces, to me. He trained under BillyJoeBobDan, my neighbor and mentor:)

I wish I could do something that nice.

I'm guessing Bob Terzuola as either the maker, or the maker of the inspiration knife.

4b: c -- definitely a bath sheet.

How'd I do??

I kinda thought it was the "dogman". However, if you check the other forums you will see a pic of this knife and I assume the poster is guy that made it. I'm not talking tho.

Big Tex, you sly fox I knew someone would notice that the maker has posted another picture of this same knife that would pretty much take the guess work out of this thread.
Thanks for not blowing it here by posting a link to that thread.

I think it's interesting to see what other people see in these Guess Who knives. Even though I know who made this knife it's not typical of the knives he is known for. When someone guesses another maker it makes me go back and look for similarities of design. I think this knife is a gem, simple yet elegant. For me this knife far surpases the knife that inspired it, and it's the ability of this maker to do that, that shows the real talent.

Definately inspired by Brian Tighe's Tighe Pan. Not sure of the maker, so I'll just say Brian was the maker as well

I know who both the maker, and the buyer of this knife are, so I guess I better keep my mouth shut....

But,

I can tell you for certain that the buyer of this particular piece is a VERY cool, smart, good-looking guy.... :p

Keep guessing!
