I have said the edge thichness and main bevel geometry make GW a good user.
It's very easy to put hair poping sharp edge on GW.

Here is a picture to show what I use. One long stripe leather. A piece of Green Compound, a home-made wood base to put the leather on it.
Apply some green compound on the leather then strop the edge on proper angle just few times. I use spine forward method.

Now one area of my leg is hairless. :)

what exactly is the 'green compound'? ive never heard of that, and where do i get some?

Green compound
I use the green compound and one of their strops. Good stuff! By the way it is CrO, which is .5 micron if anyone was interested (says so in the item description)

I ordered a Knives Plus stop block, comes with the green already embeded in leather. I do not know how long it will stay in leather though. If not long I will order this product.
Thanks for pic and info:thumbup:

Thanxx for the sharpening tips! I'll have to try it.:D  Nice pic!

Durn shipping is nearly as much as the product. Still thanks for the link.

Yeah but consider it an investment, I am pretty sure I won't ever need another stick of that stuff...

Yeah...after dropping 6, 7 hundred bucks on a knife...the fifty bucks in sharpening supplies seems pretty reasonable !

Yeah.
People I know call me crazy for spending between $100 to $200.. if only they knew.. and the then looks on their faces when I use sandpaper to sharpen... :D
