Thanks for posting the pics Eric!

I have been wanting to show the handle design to help better show off the great ergonomics put into them. This is a shot of my Camp Tramp along with a couple of knives from some 'other' company.

I thought they would go a long way to help display how great a design you guys have made...

I think these would be great tools/knives for the boys playing in the sandbox to be aware of...
 
I'd like to say, SRKW mades a great knife for the moeny, when comparing to that "other" company. But, that wouldn't be a totally true statement, because SRKW makes a great knife. Period.

I only own one Rat, a Bandicoot, while working on my second from the "other" company. However, there is no doubt there will be more Rats in my future.
 
To those who have used both Busse and Swamp Rats, how do the handles compare and which do you find preferable?

As far as "shock" absorption, I'll grab a Rat with Resiprene C any day of the week. I prefer them for comfort during use also, however, the Micarta is very tough stuff and you will not damage it no matter what you do.

You really need to try and handle both because it comes down to personal preference.
 
even under the grip? Reason being, it I wanted to have it rehandled with say, some tan mircata, would the whole blade be coated black?

I am invisioning a Camp Tramp Black and Tan:D

cerberus: I was thinking the same thing, but i just wonder how much tang there is underneath the handle...
 
You can probably attach some micarta but you might run into trouble trying to drill throught the handle for the pins. It is fully coated, including under the handle.
