Where can I find out about knife handle wrapping using paracord or similar material(s). Specifically, can anyone recommend the size, type, etc of cord used to wrap? What is(are) the secret(s) for hiding the ends and still getting the wrap tight? (I have done Japanese style wrapping, but saw a couple of knives wrapped with what looked like paracord. The cord formed a ridge on either side of the handle that improved the grip and, in some cases, looked attractive.

You might try "heading twine", which is used to make the entrance funnels on lobster traps. It's nylon, rugged as hell, about 1/8" in diameter, and comes in lots of colors. Hamilton Marine, in Searsport, Maine carries it. I've done a couple of knives with it and been very satisfied. I prefer it over paracord because it is much firmer. www.hamiltonmarine.com
