HaPpy July 4

Happy Fourth to you too!

I am heading to the city waterfront to put up my canopy and wait for the fireworks this evening.

It'll be a steamy one, but it still beats working!

It was very hot and while the Boston Pops were playing at the Esplanade, a thunderstorm moved in and all the people waiting for the Fireworks were evacuated. The show went on but lots of people were p$$ed off.
Heaven couldn't wait with Thunderous noise!

Evacuated? dang. that sucks. we had a good storm blow in here too. lost power for a little while.

did you stay to see the fireworks? i've seen a couple 4th's in boston. a lot of people, but a good time none-the-less.

Hi TPVT -

I was in East Peoria Illinois looking west toward the river.

Peoria really does a great job - the fireworks display lasts almost 30 minutes, and they said they average 6 shells per second for the duration of the show.

The total cost is in excess of $100,000 for the fireworks alone - it is really an impressive display.

best regards -

I spent the day hanging out with family and grilling some ribs (both pork baby back and beef short ribs). A good time was had by all.

sounds good to me! glad to hear it.

I was parked near the end of a cul-de-sac that night. Just before midnight I was awakened by the sound of screeching tires and crashing metal. When I looked out I got a glimpse of a black car hauling butt out of the cul-de-sac. He missed my truck by roughly three feet. He skidded 186 feet before crashing throughnthe chain and posts at the end of the street and went another thirty five feet down the driveway. I think he may have been drinking.

At the 70 plus miles per hour he was doing when he hit the brakes, there would be little chance of him surviving if he had. The paperwork would have sucked.
