hardness testing

There are file sets available that are supposed to give you a good ball park idea of the RC value. I have not used them. Seems like they are about 3 or 4 - 20 dollar bills but can't remember for sure. I can find them for you if you want to know more.

Thanks for the info- but I don't need to know that bad.
I was thinking it would help to identify unknown steel types.
