I have seen the book on Les's site and I was wondering why nobody has talked about it in the forums, can someone give me a review of the book?

I do not like to type much,so I will not do a review. I can tell you that it is worth the $10.00 that he is asking.

Yup,it was a good read.I'm not the one to review it either, but it made a lot of common sense to me.:)

I bought one a few weeks ago. Absolutely money well-spent. Les is a straight-shooter and gives you years of valuable experience as well as his keen insights. It gave me a sense of direction and knowledge about my costly purchases.

He makes sense out of +50% deposits (NEVER!) and other nuggets of info. He offers some rules and guidelines. He writes in a very straightforward way, which comes off very clean and easy to understand.

It's a must-read for a collector.

If you are at all curious of his expertise, go to the OTHER Forum site (CKD);) and look into *his* forum, the topics and his answers.

That alone will remove all doubt.

excellent reading. If you are going to participate in this business this will give you a base from which to learn even more.

I haven't read read it yet. So I really can't say how good it is.

But...

Based on my reading of what Les has said on these forums, and on my personal experience with this interesting guy, I would have to say it will be well worth the purchase price to anyone looking for sound, realistic, and accurate information about the Custom knife market. I plan to buy Les' book when I place my next order. Les is a purveyor of straight poop direct from the hands of the makers. He sells some folding **** too, but I will forgive him that small sin.

Para ;)

bought it.
read it.
like it.

well worth the money.

I like especially the rule #1 "buy what you like" :)

If you every read Les's old forum you will be familiar with the homework concepts that come with this book. It is a good read with no pictures to colour your judgement of the contents.

If you are serious about buying and collecting custom knives this book is well worth $10 - even if you then choose to buy your knives directly from the maker.

Regards,

Ed

This $10,00 will really save you a lot of money in the future!
This little book is a must for everyone interested in knives, it doesn't matter if collectors, dealers or makers.
I'll have a review of it in Cutelaria Hoje soon (yes, English version availabile!).

Gentlemen,

Thank you for your kind words. Im glad to see so many people both here and through other avenues seem to feel the book is worth while.

I am pleased to announce that Knife World is now carrying this book as well.
