That's right.

Supposedly there will be photos of this liner lock on their website shortly. And they have been featured in the newest catalog.

Busse, and now Fallkniven. Holy smokes.

Interesting.

That looks suspiciously like the same construction used on the William Henry Evolution series knives. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Maybe they are using the same production house in Seki City Japan?

Gorgeous grind lines. Lock release looks a little too prominent. Got any information on materials, Dennis?

Don't get me wrong. I like the looks of it. I was expecting more of an outdoors type tactical folder from them. I have to say that I am surprised they chose to go this route. I will have one I'm sure, but I would have preferred to see a tough as nails tactical folder.

Here you go:

From Fallkniven:

"A lot has happened behind the scenes around this folding knife, but the aim has been the same from the word go - to produce a folding knife with a sensible size and attractive design. Since we have sold other manufacturers’ folding knives for twenty years, we wanted to use that experience and make a knife that was practical, attractive and reliable.

A folding knife can never be as strong as a sheath knife, and since it is the result of several hundred different work operations, it must of course be more expensive to manufacture. On the other hand it is in a handy format and acceptable in many situations, and finally - it is a really fun edged tool that primarily boys, down the ages - and of all ages! - have loved to play with.

Inspired by the world-famous knifemaker R.W. Loveless, mod. P is a symbiosis between advanced technology, genuine handicraft and timeless design - a knife for modern people.

Price: Around USD 110.00

Release June - July 2002"

Here are the stats:

Length folded: 103 mm (4")

Blade length: 77 mm (3")

Blade thickness: 3 mm (0.12")

Steel: VG10 (of course!)

Hardness: 59 HRC

Handle material: 420J2 & black micarta

Locking: Liner action

I showed a recent acquisition to one of my co-workers. After puzzling over why anyone would spend $300+ on a knife, he suggested that I was like a little boy that had to carry those little Hot Wheels cars around in their pockets to fondle and to show to their friends.

Correct.

As for the Fallkniven folder - it looks a very practical, but not very sexy.

Looks classy AND sturdy... and with VG-10 (naturally), it should cut like a demon. I wonder why more makers haven't switched over to this superior steel.

Very nice. The perfect size (IMO). This one shows a lot of promise.
Any idea what kind of pivot washers are used?

Paul

It reminds me of a slimmed down version of the old Berreta folders. If it is half as good as they were it willbe a winner.
