I'll be out a couple of days. My only nephew, Travis, is getting married in Las Vegas tomorrow night and I have to be in attendance. Yangdu and I will leave tonight via America West and will be back about 1AM Monday. I'll be here for Memorial Day.

Which by the way reminds me to wish all a safe and pleasant Memorial Day and let's remember what it is really all about.

Have a good time and watch the road. I have a two year old son named Travis. He is not getting married in Los Vegas this weekend.

Thanks for well wishes, all.

Don't know Keith but I do remember Armistice Day. My buddy used to play Taps.

Will get to see brother Fred and wife Becky and, of course, Travis and Joni, and a few others from SEKS. About twenty in all. And, I look forward to that but not Las Vegas. I used to like the place a lot 40 years ago but since it turned into little Los Angeles I avoid it.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I went there in the early - mid 80's and it werent' too bad. Now it's 2-3 times as developed, and ergonomically engineered to part fools from their money. As if fools needed help.

I am encouraged to hear that our native friends have taken cash from the casinos that they run and are using the $ to buy back land! (Now, that's what I call medecine) Makes me wanna write a book "How the west was stolen, and how it was won back."

Keith

P.S. for another account of how the west was stolen, check out the histories of Santa Anna. Not to offend any Texans, but the Alamo was not what the popular myth would have it be.

The tails of lions and lion hunting would be very different if told by the lions.

Since I'm not old enough to remember, I had to look it up. Armistice Day is the old name for Veterans Day, and commemorates the end of WWI. Memorial Day used to be called Decoration Day, and was started in 1868 as a day to decorate the graves of those killed in the Civil War (or War of Northern Aggression -- another case of two sides telling different stories).

Thank you for looking that information up and posting it Dave. You probably saved a dozen or so forumites from getting out of bed at 3 in the morning and powering up the computer to look it up for themselves.:D
