I'm not interested in the Skirmish, but am curious of what BM produces as a folder that would be an equivalent to the Spyderco Manix/Chinook2 in heft, strength and durability. Thanks for your input.

The skirmish is probably closest in terms of heft, otherwise I don't believe benchmade produces a direct equivalent. The closest I can think of is the classic 710 axis lock.

Yes, I have the Snody 220 Fixed resistor and it is as every bit as thick as my Manix. I have seen the folding version of this knife and it too seems to be very stout. :D

You want either an 806 or a 710.

They're not exactly the same, but Benchmade doesn't make Spydercos.

Even though it's a Red Class knife, the full size Ambush is a pretty stout beast of a knife.

The 420 Resistor. It weighs in at 5.6 ounces, is a thick handled knife and the blade stock used is .150" thick, with a 3.75" blade length.

Benchmade 721 is a pretty stout knife. I haven't handled the manix or chinook, but I know my BM 721 is solid.
