I am a big guy, with big gorilla hands that needs help. My EDC is either a Spydie Police or a BM 806D2. I really like everything about these knives, but I especially like the long handles that I can get a great grip on. Now here is the problem, I need a folder with a 2.5"- 3" blade that has a real handle. Every knife that I have handled with a blade length in that range has a handle that is so small in my paws that I can't get a sure grip. I am open to any suggestions that you fine gentlemen might have.

If you like spydercos.....
Maybe you should get a chinook.
Now there's a big handle.
Or maybe a Guntig. That sounds maybe like what you're looking for.

Try a Spyderco Salsa. It has a short blade and a finger groved handle that is big enough for my overgrown paws. If you haven't handled one before this knife's size may surprize you. Good luck in your search.

If you really like those knives, why just not have someone (or do it yourself if you have the time and equipment) grind you a shorter blade version of one of the two?

I have thought about doing it to make up good travel knives (either a SS Endura or a Griptillian with the blade ground back to 2.75 inches from the top of the handle).

I have to second the earlier recommendations for Spydercos. The Lil Temperance (3" blade) and the Salsa (2.4" blade) are the only knives I'm aware of that were specifically designed to match relatively short blades with full-sized ergonomic grips.

If you can find one, you might consider a REKAT Pioneer or Savant. 3" blade, beefy handles. I have both and enjoy both. REKAT is no more, but I use the Pioneer all the time and have yet to find a reason to worry about factory support.
