It seems as of today that when I try to view images attached to some posts, I get a page that says....
El Lobo, you do not have permission to access this page.

I used to get small thumbs...then click for full size images.

Now I get "the name.jpg"....the size of the image, and how many views.....but I can't view the images.

Any ideas?

That's odd. Please post the url of at least one pic that gives you that error message -- also, what happens if you try it again later? I have no idea what's going wrong but the more info you can give us the better chance we'll have to figure it out.

In the Schrade Forum.....The post is titled "Am I way off base here"......1st post is by txlazer.....attachment at the bottom says....."Schraderesize.jpg"....."10.9 KB"."35 views".
I used to get a thumbnail now I get the verbage above, and when I click it says "You do not have permission to access this page". I know others can see it, because the next poster (lrv) describes the photo.

When I click on the link I don't get an error message; I see a picture of a knife. I dunno.... :confused:

You might try updating your browser, or try a different browser.
 
OK, I did some logging in and out , removed the cookies, started from scratch. Did an AOL Browser reload. Now it works. :eek: Guess I'll never know "WHAT" but ........WHATEVER. :rolleyes:

I forgot to mention a funny story.
Once, for 2 days, in the Schrade Forum, a poster had posted a picture of an old fixed blade (Golden Spike, I think) that they bought. When I clicked on it, I got a picture from the old "Hottie" thread instead!!! :eek: I know, I know, but that's what it displayed for 2 days.....then just disappeared.

OK, today I get the "You do not have permission to access this page" note again when I attempt to view an attached image. I logged out, where I first got an error message, then was redirected to a successful logout. Logged back in...no joy. Still getting the no permission message. Sigh.... :(

OK, being frustrated at not being able to see attached images, I logged out, then checked back as a visitor, not logging in. Guess what?.......That's right I could see all thumbnails as they were supposed to be, and clicking on them enlarged them, with no "bad boy, or whatever" message about having access.
However, I couldn't post as a visitor, so I had to log in to post this......and of course my ability to see the attachments disappeared with the login.
Could you please check my account and make sure I don't have some kind of restriction, since I just became a Basic Member? :confused:

I'm gonna keep adding information.....maybe something will work out.
Sooooo, I logged in as a visitor, all threads with the paperclip showing (containing attached images) were Ok, and thumbnails were viewable. So then I logged in from inside one of the threads, was thanked for logging in as El Lobo, and redirected back to the thread( http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=308918) where thumbnails were replaced with file size, number of views, etc. The thumbnails were then unviewable as I got the afore mentioned error message. :(

I have AOL 9.0 Optimized with the latest IE, and Windows XP and have used the Browser fix in AOL several times with no joy. I'm not having trouble at similar sites.

Minor rant mode now off. :confused:

El Lobo, go to your User Control Panel, click on "Edit Options," and scroll down a little. I think you'll find the box for "Show Images (including attached images and images in code)" is not checked. Click on that box and it should fix the problem.

Sometimes the Cyber Demons reconfigure your computer when you're not looking....
 
Cougar, thanks for the effort my friend. Unfortunately it WAS checked. I did uncheck the 3 boxes in that category, logout.......then logged in again, checked the 3 boxes, saved the changes, and..........on the following thread, first post:

I get 3 lines of the code, but no thumbnails. HOWEVER, when I click on the code, I can view "Doors #1 and #3"......but am forbidden to access the middle one. That must be where the "New Car!!!" is located.

I guess I'll just log out if I want to see an attachment.

Hmm ... deleting your cookies fixed it for you earlier ... temporarily. Your preferences are stored in your cookies, on your computer. I think your cookies have gotten corrupted again. Has your browser crashed lately? (Stoopid question, browsers are always crashing....) Anyway, try deleting your cookies again.
