Well, Berk, here it is. 21.5 inches and 35 ounces. I think it may be a little heavier than the original which is something I predicted because we had only a "half" model. But it looks pretty close.

Bura made this one and did a pretty decent job. Fit and finish is just about perfect. As everybody knows I can't tell pine from walnut but this handle is definitely NOT saatisal and looks like chandan to me. I'll defer to the expert woodchucks. But it's beautiful wood and beautifully done.

The karda and chakma are exactly what you wanted. The horn on these looks to be pretty old and I'm guessing they came from some antique karda and chakma whose blades were not worth saving. New karda and chakma with old handles. Very nicely done.

Pala found your brown leather and the village sarki has done a 10/10 job on the scabbard. This leather may be recycled from a jacket, jola, or some other item. Good job, thought, and village sarki put four extra carry slots just in case you need more tools with the rig there's a place to put them. Village sarki also made you a near matching brown leather frog which is not shown in the picture.

She'll fly today and we'll wait for your evaluation. I'm prejudiced.

Some research expert please put up a comparison pix of original vs Bura's effort.

Wow, awesome  :D
Love that leather, and the k&c handles are excellent...

WOW!!:) NICE!

Looks like weight would be very far forward, putting into the chopper category (which is NOT a bad thing). The karda and chakma are amazing!! And the scabbard is absolutely fantastic!

The price for this piece was $400 prepaid. Searching out the leather and horn for karda and chakma added significantly to the cost. IF we could find leather and horn for another it would be same price.

The same rig with standard karda, chakma, scabbard and frog with saatisal handle would be about half that price.

That is a wonderful khukuri!
I'm jealous and am man enough to admit it ;) :D

What a beautiful knife!!

These special projects just keep getting better and better. Is that dark wood for the handle hard to get? Extra cost? It looks like one of my chakma handles, I'd I'd really love a khuk with a handle of the stuff.

I think it's sandalwood -- Maybe Wal or Bro can tell us later on for sure. I "think" Wal mentioned that sandalwood is going for $400 per pound now.

I'd like to thank Berk for giveing me such a fine gift! Uncle just send it to my address. Don't bother contacting Berk he knows all about this deal.:D

Thanks, $400/lb IS pretty spendy...

I actually hope it's something else that's easier to obtain...I just want it to look pretty, I don't really care how rare it is. That only matters if you sell it, which I would hope to never have to do.

That price was posted in an old woodchuck thread, and had a link to confirm it, IIRC. I just tried a search and came up empty. When stuff gets priced above that of butter, I tend to forget it as soon as possible.
