Hey Dan,

How about doing a Scandi grind PSK knife, maybe 4 1/2" long with a 2" blade, no scales !

Using the KISS approach to keep it cheap !!!!;)

This would be cool.

Pit: are you thinking of a knife based on Dan's Bushcrafter or Nessmuk style? Something else maybe? Micro-Survivor?

Just something reals simple, this is one that John of JK knives made me with a convex edge and I love it but to try something similar with Dan's Scandi grind would really cool as well !

I'd be interested, I guess.

I do like the idea of a cheap Personal Survival Knife that you could toss in a survival kit....or glove box....or even in your pocket.

would need more ideas/pics/drawings, though. :o

Gimme some dimensions....height of the blade, thickness, etc.

Gonna want the handle to be straight?

And remember...it's gotta be something that'll appeal to everybody....I'll need to fill a batch of 50 to consider it.

Sign me up for one if/when it happens. Love the idea. I have a buck hartsook in that role now and it is good, but always looking to upgrade.

I would also be down for a couple of these myself. I love that Koster scandi grind!

hopefully something that fits in an altoid tin that most mini psk's are designed around, solid 2 finger grip and a laynard fob would be great.

what would you think about a finger ring? or at least finger grooves?

(for a more secure/solid w-finger grip)

Maybe something like this?

Could be made from a 1" X 4.5" piece of 3/32" or 1/8" stock. Ring diameter is 0.825" and the lanyard hole is 0.325". Middle hole is for asthetics. The blade is 2" from tip to plunge line. I'm kind of uneasy though about the lack of material above/below the finger ring, but as a PSK and at 3/32", it shouldn't be expected to be a prybar.

How about something like this......

I don't think it should be made to fit in an Altoids tin, I find that you need one at least 4" long to be of any serious use !

I think this would be more robust than my previous iteration.

At 1", I think the blade would be too narrow to incorporate a full finger ring, but this should provide adequate control nonetheless. Otherwise, same dimensions as before.

are we still taking about using a scandi grind?
