I just discovered some rust on my Rainier Scout. Anyone have any good ideas on removing it, with the least amount of damage being done to the finish? It has that nice forged rough surface treatment, which I do not want to screw up. However, I also don't want it to stay rusted, or to get any worse.

WD-40 and medium steel wool will be fine.
Thanks for the quick reply, Andy! That is one of the combinations I have used on knives in the past. It was all the nooks and crannies on the head that were giving me reason to pause.
Since I have not mentioned it lately, you guys did an outstanding job on the Rainier Scouts. even my wife loves it. There are 3 weapons on my living room table (my toys), that she 'allows' me to leave out because she likes to look at them. One is my Swamp Rat Satin battle rat. The other two are my ATC hawks.
