High Quality Throwers?

I'm looking for some really high quality throwers. Ideally I'd like something that will last a lifetime. I know there are a few brands out there that are great, and I had a catalogue for one of them at one point but my girlfriend burned all my stuff and thew me out. Any help getting back into this hobby would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I'd like to recommend Cold Steel, but I've been waiting all summer for back-ordered knives. They should be tough enough for many throws with minimal bending (high carbon steel), heavy enough to throw well (some even appear to meet the competition standard of an ounce per inch in length), and large enough to throw from a distance. Anyway, google (Cold Steel throwing knife), this should point you in the right direction (HINT: it's easy to find distributors that sell them for less than the Cold Steel charges directly -- probably a maneuver Cold Steel is taking to encourage business for distributors).

These knives should last longer than your past relationship -- but I'd be skeptical of any thrower that claims to last a lifetime (throwing is hard on even the toughest of knives).

If you're looking for indoor throwing knives, you might want to go smaller & cheaper (surf around on ebay).

.

I guarantee my throwing knives for life. I have people who have been throwing my knives for over 20 years. I do however reserve the right to substitute models if the model has been discontinued.

The two Cold Steel throwers I've had bent to shit after some heavy use. I wouldn't buy them again.

I have been told by a lot of people that I throw as hard or harder than anybody in the world of knife throwing, and I broke everything I ever threw until I got some of Bobby Branton's knives. Like a lot of people, I just didn't realize how heat-treating makes knives practically unbreakable until I actually had some of them. The biggest regret I have about my book is that I wrote it before I knew anything about custom knives and thus didn't have anything to say about them. The only knives I've seen comparable to Bobby's are Tru-Bals, which are great, but very expensive. Don't doubt the lifetime guarantees on custom knives. You get what you pay for. You'll scratch them a little if you throw them in groups but it's hard to imagine breaking one or damaging it to where it couldn't be thrown.

I guess it wasn't a true flight thrower, eh?

Harald Moeller makes very nice throwing knives.
There is a topic in the Rosarms forum on their throwing knives and I like them a lot.

I would concur that Branton knives are the way to go.

I bought three #8 (the small ones) - they are beefy, and the perfect size (9") in my opinion.

With a name like yours, heck I'm not surprised she threw you out.

Good thread though - I am looking for the same thing.
