Another forum mentioned using these shoes for "walking around camp".
I got a wild hair and stopped off at Shoe Carnival after work.
Picked up a pair of Converse All Stars in Monochrome Black.
30 or so duckies out the door.

These are suhweet! Comfortable. Nice looking. My high instep loves them. They are not too expensive, and they appear well constructed.

I liked them so much that I went back up there and got a second pair to put in my pack.

Ya gotta love those All Stars! I have 2 pair, one regular and one all black. Comfortable, inexpensive and never out of style.

Would you be talking about the shoes my Dad called "Chucks" ? Chuck Conners All Stars I think. Dad still wears them and swears they are the best tennis shoes he ever bought.

I love my Chucks. I have to admit, though, that I was more than a little bummed a couple years back when they quit making them here in the States and shipped production to China. The new ones are not as good.

You are young. ;)

Chuck Connors was "The Rifleman."

Chuck Taylor was a basketball player turned shoe guy.

Tell your Dad about the mix up, he'll get a kick out of it. :D

I'd like a pair of Chucks myself but I have weird feet. I wear a 13B. That's narrow. Does Converse make 'em in 'B'? Or, since they're lace-up, do you think I can get 'em tight enough on my foot? Actually I have an even narrower heel but I just have to live with that.

I've been wearing a pair of Redwing lace-up boots for athletic type activities but I don't think they have enough cushion. And I ain't about to wear anything on my feet that makes me look like an astronaut or a pimp so don't bother suggesting another brand. :)

I'd stick with New Balance shoes. They come in Bs.
