I don`t know if anyone remembers, but last January I started a thread on your outdoor New Year`s resolutions were.I had said that mine was to hike the Illinois & Michigan Canal Path, a section at a time. Well, we finally started on it yesterday by doing a short (3.1 mile) section between Channahon and McKinley Woods, for a total of 6.2 miles. Yeah, I know, kind of a short trip, but we are starting slow untill my wife builds up strength for longer hikes. Here are some photos from the hike, starting at the #6 lock in Channahon.

Every so far you come across these old stone walls. I think they were places to tie up the old barges.

Had a great day just getting outdoors!

Nice pics Stomper.
It's nice to have the weather back and get out isn't it?
Wife and I were just tlaking last night about a hike soon. We're heading to DC this weekend so this weekends out.

Those are some great pics. That place is beautiful. Looks like a good time.

Nice photos John. That shelter looks like a great spot to hang out and cook up a dutch oven dinner. We have a spot like that not far from home.
