These are pretty neat if you have an import.

Butterfly Keys

Unfortunately my car has anti-theft and I can't use these keys.

It is possible to disable the anti-theft feature on many cars. It just takes more work than many car theifs are willing to do, so it is an effective system, in many cases. But if you aren't afraid of a little bit of re-wiring, you can usually disable it.

It's kinda neat, but it probably won't last very long. It was posted a while back in the Balisong Forum how one of these keys broke after 3 months. The reason was attributed to the fact that the handles were not designed well enough to withstand the torsional forces of key operation. :(

You could use it to open the door. You only need the computer chip key to start the ignition.

Not the new cars. If you do not have the computer chip in your key, there is not much of a chance your going to get that car started. The only way to do it, would be if you had the code to program a new chip. Because without the chip, the computer is just not going to start the car. They say car theft is down 95% on the newer cars with the computer chips in the key.

The 'chip' in most cars that I have seen, is actually nothing more than a resistor. With enough time, you can find the correct value, and permanently install a matching resistor in the system.
