This one is here for a simple fix in the way of a Wave addition.

Here is shot of it before and followed by that an after shot. So what'd that take. However long from the first post to the edit to knock out. What about a 20 minute job start to finish plus or minus. Something simple enough for anyone with a 1x30 bench sander, some ceramic belts and a dremmel. The end result is one of the all time easiest most reliable Waving folder I think I've ever used.

That is cool! I'm thinking something like that on my Kershaw groove might work...

But then again, I don't have a bench sander with ceramic belts.

How much would you charge for something like this?

Thanks!

$30 on all Wave mods. Now on those like the 14205 that are a piece of cake without any real reprofiling involved its not really fair to charge that so I have as of late been trying to work with folks. I had a 14205 of my own and gave it to my son. Seeing this one and playing with the Wave action on it again really brought back a lot. These are super nice folders. I would have ordered one but I have ordered me a Harley Davidson/BenchMade Mini Hardtail folder with the ceramic poly coated D2 blade instead that I look forward to owning. I have never had many BenchMade knives that just moved me enough to keep them. I've seen plenty that I like and feel are great knives but they didn't bump anything out of my pocket. Maybe this HardTail will do the trick. I'll know soon. I always liked the Buck 110 and 112 folder and this HardTail looks a lot like those to me only with the Axis lock so I'm hoping its a real winner. It doesn't look like its Waveable though unless I want to remove the thumb stud but I doubt I'll do that. I don't mind a non wave folder. Most of em in my collection of users are so its no biggy.

Not sure on Waving your Groove. I'd have to see it again to really know.

I have done one on the 14210. I didn't think it was as nice as the bigger brother model but it did work and the customer was quite happy with it.

The Wave is small but it works with practice and mostly due to how smoothly the blade action is on those which as you probably know is quite nice.

My question is do you prefer the 205 or the 210? I was planning on buying the 210, but just realized its the same size as the mini grip. I like my mini grip but I think i'm starting to like bigger knives more. I think its alot easier to do delicate jobs with the smaller benchmades.

I think thats why I like spydies so much they usually have a choil on their larger knives so you can choke up and do the delicate work.

In my opinion the 210 is the premier production gents folder on the market today in this new generation of knives. I place it right up there with the Buck 501 as one of those classics that only comes around every now and again.

For daily carry the 210 is perfect but I did find the handle to be a tad smallish for my hands. Its certainly tolerable even if it is a bit small for me. For this reason I'd probably say if you have big hands or even medium large hands you'll probably like the 205 better. For rural and your own property I'd go for sure with the 205. City life, especially in major ones the 210 is a bit less intimidating. We'll call it a more 'sheeple' friendly version of the same knife other than the slight recurve of the blade that the 210 has going for it.

Thanks STR, I have a feeling we have close to the same size hands. Because my mini grip is just a tad shy of filling my hand. I will have to say though I do enjoy my mini grip. As far as the sheeple, i'm a mechanic and work around all guys and I live in Alabama so its not that big of a deal here. I guess I just need to put both of them in my hands. In fact I was looking at getting a big griptilian anyway. So maybe this will fill its spot instead.

I understand. I can normally palm a basketball so I like ample handle but part of my problem is I like shorter blades. I never could find a handle that fit me right in all the blade lengths I like. I never carry much more than a 2. 5" to 3" blade length on me and most of the handles with that length blade are just too short. Its this reason I like the Para Military, Dodo, CQC14 and my own Ouparator so much since those all have handle lengths like you see in bigger blade length models. The 14210 handle is less than my Ouparator in length but its got a blade longer than mine. Typical of what you see really. The 205 is what you want from the sounds of it. I'd have to say these HK BenchMades are in my opinion the best ones they offer. All of them are good with the axis lock but my faves are the 14200, 14205, and 14210 models. The old discontinued Snody 420 Resistor is a good folder too and another of those that is easily Waved. It does require a bit more work than 205 but not much.

Yes the size issue is a difficult decision. I have medium size hands. I wear a medium size golf glove which is a bit snug. Anyway, I chose the smaller 14210. When I recieved it I was a bit dissapointed in the smooth G10 handles. It felt like I could not get a comfortable purchase on the knife. So off it went to STR to get standard black G10 handles. More like texture of the handles on a Para Military. Results, a fantastic knife of the perfect size that I can confidently grip.

The jimping on top of the blade really helps with a secure purchase.

Well coop thanks so mych for the pics. That really gave me a better comparison.
But now i'm back to square one and can't decide which I would rather get. hehe. Aint it always the way.
