Hobbit- sharpening

I have a problem sharpening my hobbit, it wil not take an edge. I have never had this problem with any of my other Rekat's.
I am sharpening the knife on a Spyderco sharpmaker at the 40 degree angle.
The Hobbit was bought in 1997, and it has only the round eye symbol on the handguard.
Any tips anyone?

I had a problem sharpening my rekat knives when I first tried too, the edge was really thick, and the steel is very hard, you will probably have to keep trying until you get the edge reprofiled, then it should take a fairly good edge, although I have never been able to get them hair popping sharp like some of my other knives, so maybe somebody could help us both out with some better advice.
