Now I understand what everybody has been talking about.

I do not live anywhere near a ZT dealer so I had never seen one much less held one. I am really happy with it. I did take it apart and clean it and take some of the rough edges off and now it is awesome!

I think I am in love.

I just got my 0560 last week .. As soon as i get my wicked edge figured out i will really love mine.

I love it even more since I filed off the sharp edges of the jimping and sanded down the G10 to make it easier to disengage the lock. It is so much easier to disengage now. It has no effect on the ergonomics in case you are wondering.

I hear ya man, I broke all the sharp edges off the handle of my 550, it makes all the difference to me

I usually sand any uncomfortable edges myself too but there are so many on this knife it's like super jimping/checkering and now I actually like it.

I think a lot of people, me included, felt the jimping on the 056XX too sharp. Rounding off the edges didn't make the jimping any less gripping I might add. It just took the pain out of opening the knife.

I didn't find any sharp edges on either of the 0550 or 0551 though.

Thats surprising.I guess I'm one of the few. My 561 is just fine, I haven't had any rough bothersome edges. I do not feel the jimping as being too sharp either. As long as you guys are enjoying them after the mods, It's cool with me! If the g10 was in way of disengaging the lock I too would sand it down.

The jimping on the top of mine was so sharp that it took skin off of my finger the first time I flipped it open. I almost dropped the knife on the concrete! I learned not to do that again lol.

No big deal though, it isn't hard to refine the edges to your liking and I love the fact that the G10 extends past the liner on the non locking side so that you can sand it down to your liking without having to grind down the metal frame.

I just received my ZT 0560 today. I don't mind the jimping, but I don't exactly have soft skin. I guess I need to moisturize...

What method did you use to sand the G10? I was afraid it would turn white or possibly leave a burr.

I'm sorry but I love the super sharp jimping! I think some of you guys gotta get some calluses on your hands or do more manly stuff with them :p

I know what you mean about the disengaging the lock.
I thought it was a bit tough to disengage but didn't know why.

I bought two of them and both were similar. So I sold them both.

I sanded down the g10 to make it easier to disengage with 80, 220, 400, 600, and then finished with 1500. You cannot tell that it has even been touched. G10 is a really cool material once you sand it down and wipe it off with a wet rag it looks just like it came from the factory.

Hey what is your lock up at?

I got my 0561 last week and its already at like 65%-70%. This is my first framelock and dont know what to do really.

Ive read alot of threads and stuff and have found a lot of conflicting info.

late lock up wont hurt anything, with how the lock face and lock bar are cut it can only move over to about 90% then it has to stop and cant get worse, mines at 75-80% and hasnt budged in 2 months, when i first got it it was at 40% but that stopped in about 2-3 days of flicking and it ended up at where it is now.

Don't do that these knives are made for men that don't use moisturizer and it's weird to hear these guys complaining about "sharp edges" on a hard use knife. IMO if you feel like this knife is hurting your hands sell it to a LEO or soldier buy a colorful endura and quit bitching. In short THESE KNIVES ARE NOT MADE FOR SOFT-HANDED MEN. Not trying to start anything just stating an opinion.

^Now that all that's been said, I'll sell everything I'm uncomfortable with to an LEO or solder... yeah, that'll work.

*Walks up to an NYC police officer* "Hey! This big knife I just bought hurts my fingies! U CAN HAZ BUY ITZ!?"

O.o

I love my new 0560. It really is, in a word, perfect.
