Steve, just got the Mission MPF 3 back tonight. I don't know what you did but the lock and action are both better than when I got it NIB directly from Mission. The action is smooth, smooth, smooth, and my lock is insane and what gets me is the lock doesn't travel over as far now as it did before I sent it to you. I had marked how far over on the base of the blade where the lock was going with a penicl about a year ago so I could monitor its travel, and now since you did whatever you did. The vertical blade play is gone and the lock does not travel to the pencil markt but stops short of it as the pencil mark is now clearly visible.

OUTSTANDING, I could not have imagined it would have turned out this GREAT, I'm pleased beyond words.

Thanks, and how did you get the lock to do that? What is respring the lock entail?

Thanks again and I'll probably being scratching my head for a while trying to figure out how you got the lock to do that.

I did re-spring the lock yes, but I also adjusted it with a quick peen using a flat end punch to bring out more lock contact with a better more even foot print of contact in the right spot. Then I used it opening and closing it and putting it under load and smoothed it down briefly with a polishing wheel. Its just an old cutler trick to make the lock to both contact better on the blade and wear better by compressing the molecules a bit at the contact to make it a bit denser there where it wears, so to speak.
