This is a follow-up to a review I did early this year on a Jerry Hossom Bolo-style test blade, review here:

I’m posting to show the awesome job he did on re-profiling and strengthening the point on this knife, which was the only “weakness” my abusive testing turned up. In my first use of this test-blade, stabbing into a mesquite log to break off bark as for kindling, I managed to lock the tip into the wood and snapped off about 5/16" of the point. I’m happy to report that I have tested the new point on that same mesquite, and it will stand up to more prying power than I possess! Here’s the strengthened point, which makes a veritable spike out of the fully radiused spine:

I hereby present you with the new, improved Jerry Hossom Variable-edge, Featherweight, Extra-Hard-Use Camp Bolo:

For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of viewing one of Jerry's knives from above the spine, take special notice of the heavy contouring on this grip. No matter what your hold, the knife is secure and solid in the hand. Nothing like having your knife handles fashioned by a truly superior sword smith!
