Wouldn't it be sweet if they made a few of these for the flat ground lover? I am a fan of Spyderco mostly because they are one of the few companies that have a lot of flat ground blades. They also are not afraid of making the blades and tips thin enough to be very usable at the cost of being a little eaiser to break. For those of us that know what a knife is for and know how to use one and how not to use one, Spyderco makes some great blade designs.

Spyderco is the thinking man's knife compnay!:D

Actually, I prefer the hollow grind on the old style Endura, much better for SE which is the only edge type I carry. I know most people prefer full flat grinds now a days, and Spyderco offers as you said a lot of flat grinds, much to my mild annoyance:D . Good thread by the way:thumbup:
Cheers,
Rob

I am also a big fan of the Spydy double flat grinds. For me, a (roughly) leaf shape and double flat grinds makes the most useful, versatile folder size blade. This type blade, combined with the grip ergos of the Mili, Para, Manix, etc. make for a dynamite using knife.

I think a Flat ground Endura 4 is a brilliant idea. I love flat ground knives.

I'll get on board for a flat ground Del. 4. I love the new knife but just not fond of the blade grind.

I like flat ground on most knives. The Delica 4 is just fine as is however. If the blade were 1/8" thick, then flat grind ok. You must be careful about getting a blade too thin, you will have a strength problem, chipping, etc.
You will notice Spyderco flat grinds 1/8", 5/32" blades usually.

is the caly jr zdp a flat grind??....still learning my grinds...thx/paul

Yes it is. It just looks like a hollow ground blade because of the laminate line.

I'd love to see the new ZDP-189 Delica with a full flat, doubt it'll happen, but that'd be most excellent.
