How are Caswell knives

I've tried to search these knives & I keep getting a blank screen with "done" at the bottom. So, at the expense that this has been done before, what's the consensus of Caswell Knives?

The clip is a neat idea & their specs looks good on paper (Titanium liners, usually a nice damascus steel blade), but how are they to handle? Do they hold up & do they seem good value for the $$?

Thanks in advance for any info on this.

I don't know anything about them but just put "Caswell" into the search and not "Caswell knives" as just about every thread of the tens of thousands on this forum has the word knives in it about 25 times. I get a whole slew of results for Caswell.

Interesting...I typed in "Caswell" & all I got is the thread I started. Am I checking the wrong Forum? I'm checking it in the "Custom & Handmade Knives" Forum. I assumed that's what they are, am I incorrect in this? Thanks.

I was an early critic of Joe's clip design and voiced my concerns on another forum before fully understanding the utility and versatility of the design.
I decided to try the system for myself and purchased an upscale model from a dealer site.
My observations in the several months I have owned and used the knife are that Joe builds a solid knife from quality materials and has a fine eye for design as well as a creative mind which is displayed by his clip inovation. Construction is top notch with smooth action and centered blade. The clip pops in and out of the frame with a solid detent in both positions.
While I am not yet totally sold on the clip design, my Caswell folder is in my pocket at least half of the week.

My opinions aside there very few, if any, other options now for top quality custom folders with Bos treated damasteel blades for the price Joe is asking. I would not hesitate to buy another Caswell folder and look forward to seeing what Joe comes up with next.

When you first sign into bladeforums you don't have a general search option, however just go to General or Community or Makers or any of the forum group links above and then you'll see "Search" in the blue bar next to Calendar, New Posts, etc. This searches all of BF and not a particular forum. Much easier to find info that way. I come up with many links in a general search for Caswell.

I recently purchased one of the Caswell folders and I love it. For the price, you get very solid construction. It's basic, but it's beefy. Thick liners, textured G-10 scales, and a handle shape that is very utilitarian and useful.
I think it's the perfect EDC size and it's a Damasteel blade-which I think looks great, wears well (I've been cutting with it and no scuff marks-including whittling wood, cutting rope, etc), and cuts well.
The clip has it's pluses and for me only one minus (that it twists the fabric of the pants its clipped to). The clip is Ti and thick and I have no worries about it twisting or breaking. It's easy to hide/extract after you get the hang of it and while the knife handles better with the clip in the handle, it's not that bad to use with it out.
Overall, I am VERY happy with this purchase. This looks and feels to me like a much more expensive knife. Not to mention the great fit/finish and materials. I give it two thumbs way up.
