For instance, is a #6 treble hook made of 3 #6 single hooks (actually a double and a single), or, is there a different size relationship?

Thanks.:)

Yep, sized the same way. I once caught a salmon trout (junior Australian salmon) that had taken the lure well down in its throat. The treble killed it stone dead. All I felt was the original hit and then a dead weight. Try not to get them through a knuckle too, apparently that really hurts.

IME it may not always be the case as treble designs vary from manufacturers... Some manufacturers may even vary the size for different models. The most important aspect to look out for (for me at least) when replacing trebles on lures is the weight. If you replace it with something that is too heavy or light chances are it will affect how your lure swims. Too heavy and it'll be a slower wider movement, opposite if it is too light. It may even affect the swimming depth.

Thanks guys. I wish they would give the width of the hook in millimeters, along with a picture, instead of the silly sizing.
