How do banned members stay banned?

Say a member gets banned, under what circumstances does one get unbanned? Been noticing a certain someone who has reappeared but was banned some time ago.
 
Depends on the someone. Who is it, where are they posting, yadda yadda yadda.

We can ban members in several ways. We can prevent them from reregistering with the same email address, we can ban their ISP from registering, we can ban their ISP from accessing the site, etc.

I'd rather not go into some of the details as that would give certain someone's clues on how to bypass our measures.

Rancherman / the_artist is currently banned. He's going to stay banned, period. He had enough chances and I'm not inclined to give him any more.

Thanks for your reply, Spark! The details you didn't mention are not important because I don't want to learn how to circumvent your security measures. I was under the impression that he had been "pardoned" by A.G Russel or something, and how an albeit famous knife personality had "pull" on your virtual "propery"? In any case, I'm glad banned members stay banned.
 
Who gave you that idea? A.G. Russell has no pull here with regards to banning and unbanning members - period.

Whoever told you that was wrong, and I'd like to know just how such a rumor got started.

Spark, sorry for any misunderstandings. I think if you search through all of "the_artist's" posts he mentions being pardoned by someone, I think, A. G Russel or something. That is where I got the idea. I have no real beef with rancherman/the_artist, I just think banned members should stay banned. With the rare exception of Keninshiro and trustworthy others, I believe that free-mail accounts should not be allowed on BF as a form of control. I mean, even Ebay does not allow free-mail accounts when they register. I also don't generally think that kids should be allowed here as well (which is what I think rancherman is in real life).
 
the_artist had claimed to have gotten the "blessing" of A.G. Russel in the "Dear crk" thread in the Chris Reeves Knives Forum.

Don't believe half of what you read and less of what you hear.

Mike and I are the final authorities when it comes to banning a member. A.G. Russel has no pull when it comes to banning or unbanning any member.

Given all the lies that the_artist / rancherman / whoever has already spouted, this doesn't exactly suprise me.
