Listen guys its been a rough couple of months . I should have mentioned in the other thread that I miss the target on a fair amount of my throws . If I can get my aim down a bit more I will get a lot more sticks .

I think this is where having throwers all the same size might help a lot .

Do any of you guys have tricks/systems to become more precise ?

well, there is one that you might try, it worked for me.

You see, initially when i started, i read alot of guides on how to throw. And everytime i stand at the target range, my mind is pre-occupied with all the rules that i must follow. I say, "screw that! I am doing it my way"

All the guides went out of the window. I used to concentrate alot on my wrist movement like wheather my wrist is stiff enough of not, is my follow through correct?

Just throw a knife as you would to any object, go home, think what went wrong and what can be improved (distance, wrist) and go back to the throwing range with those theories. But knife throwing should be done you are clear headed and not fatigue...

Hopw these helps

Just like any hand eye skill, shooting baskets or shooting pool, your interest and concentration level fluxuates. Some days you are on, some days you can't hit the broadside of a barn. Try taking a short break. When you return you might find your interest/concentration has returned to exceed your former level.

You need to have a matching set of knives that are at least 12 inches long and you need to find the correct distance for the style of throwing that you are going to do. Stay in the 10-12 foot range. Once you find the distance where you are sticking, the rest is practice, practice, practice until you can stick 90% of the time. Only then should you move to another distance. You have to get the basics down first and the rest will follow. After awhile you will not have to think about it.

P.S.
It is hard to throw three different size knives until you become more advanced. There are no tricks or short cuts. Practice , practice, practice.
Ooops, did I mention PRACTICE;)

Bobby I like the practice part . When I can I will upgrade to a matching set of quality long knives . For now I will limit distance and practice , practice , practice . L:O:L
