How do you store your knives?

Another question.


How do you store or display your knives? Do you have like a case you put your special knives in, and leave your edc on the dresser? A knife roll? Whats your display/storing?
 
well, i feel silly for answering this question, because I don't have many knives,..yet. I have a few Buck 110's that stay in their sheath, same with my Buck 112,...a Buck Alpha Hunter that lives in my Maxpedition Fatboy, and my Rat Trap that is on my person at all times, except when I'm sleeping or showering and even then I feel some seperation anxiety.
 
I don't really display my knives, I buy them as users and use them. I just have most of my knives on one of the shelves of my stereo rack in my room, with whatever I have been using as an EDC on my dresser with my wallet, keys, etc. This way it is esy to just grab all of my stuff and load up my pockets in the morning. It also makes it easy enough to change what I am carrying if I feel like it as everything is out in the open.
 
Knives not in use are lightly oiled and stored out of their sheathes, usually in the plastic they came in, or some other poly wrap.

Knives in use are usually left in the sheath in their "optimal" location. I define optimal location as "a place that seemed like a sensible idea at the time, but now I can't remember where the heck my wife must have moved it."
 
I keep them in my closet. Each knife lays on it's sheath, not in it. I think that maybe, in the future, I'll buy a glass display for them. But for now, I find it safer to keep them out of sight.
 
The EDC goes on my night stand when I go to bed.

The other knives I'm not using are cleaned and oiled and put in their original boxes and shelved.
 
For the three fixed bladed knives I own I store them in their sheaths since the sheaths are kydex. For my folders I use the padded and zippered knife pouches, or I will store them in a sheath. I have my Dozier Workhorse stored in a S.O.E. sheath and it is a perfect fit. This sheath was designed to fit the Strider AR/GB.
 
Here's the one I made for all of my personal stuff. Mostly knives/sheaths, my carry guns and carry holsters.

Prior to this it was a Gerstner and a couple of other boxes for sheaths.

Tomorrow's EDC on the dresser top next to my wallet and pen.

The rest, all folders, in the top drawer of the dresser, awaiting their turn as "Tomorrow's EDC".

All kitchen cutlery in a wooden block.
 
I have a half-way decent wooden toolbox with felt lined drawers that I keep most of 'em in. I also keep a few of my favorites in my night stand, so I can fiddle with 'em while I watch TV in bed.
 
Thats an easy one. In the nightstand, closet, kitchen, gunsafe, dresser drawers, garage, truck, car, and in my pockets. Knives everywhere. I usually coat them down with 3 in 1 oil.
 
they're all over the house... maybe if i had a collection it would be different, but mine are all used.
 
Most of them I store on my person, they rarely leave my belt, coat, or jean pockets. When I take my jeans off at night my knives stay there or are transfered to the pants I'll wear tomorrow. As for the other knives I have, usually they sleep in my sock drawer.

I have some plastic filing drawers that can close, so I lined them with felt and keep it in my closet. Most of my larger fixed blades go into plastic trunks in the closet as well. Usually there are 2 folders on teh nightstand, a Spyderco and a Cold Steel, a fixed blade on the shelf in the lounge near the front door, and a couple of tomahawks next to the bed :D
