How does Spyderco get their G10 so good?

I think the G10 on the Paramilitary and the Yojimbo is the best G10 I've ever handled on on any knife with G10.

Does Spyderco do something different or buy a different kind of G10?

It's nice and grippy and to me it feels like G10 should feel. Benchmade G10 seems plastic like.

How do they do it?
 
I have seen Sal mention several times that Spyderco G10 is the best quality available. I do not know who the vendor is nor whether other colors are available.
 
If I remember correctly, Spyderco's G-10 is custom made to Sal's specifications. Hence the ridiculously good quality of it.

I agree, it's superior to other G-10, at least in my opinion.
 
It really is. It's unreal how nice and sturdy it feels. Spyderco G10 seems like it could beat up other G10. :D
 
I have this constant confusion going on about our knives.

We use premium steels, often costing 2 to 4 times as much as "other" good steels to buy and process. The reason for the added expense is to provide a product that will provide safe, reliable high performance.

We make custom G-10 for added strength and secutiry.

We use steel in our handles that others use in their blades.

We are constantly testing, breaking, dulling, rusting our products to ensure that you get our best.

We pay little attention to looks behind ergos and function. The"Spirit" of a Spyderco is best experienced in useage.

Kinda like a Ferrari with "0" miles. 90% of the appreciation is found in the personal act of cutting with the knife, feeling the ergos, not noticing the knife in you pocket, trusting the performance, etc.

I would be interested to know what is attractive about a "fugly" knife if you don't use it?

There is a line in there stating that they custom make their G-10. And I agree with the above that it is the "best G-10 ever."
 
i like what sal said in that quote. Ill take performance over looks anyday. i prefer spydercos g10 over benchmades g10 too :thumbup:
