A hunting buddy of mine that I really respect gave me a Kershaw Echo on an elk trip a couple years ago.. I really love the knife..Its super simple.. A full tang blade, 2 scales, and 3 fasteners.. Just a great knife for what I use a knife for..

Well, like a lot of knives that I'm sure you all have had in the past, the kife is great, but the sheath sucks..

I absolutely hate the sheath.. The part that your belt goes through is super flimsy, the retention is OK, but I just hate the design...

So, I went camping with a friend of mine a few weeks ago, and he had a Mora w/ a kydex sheath.. He couldnt remember exactly who he bought it from, but just knew it was a guy who made sheaths for a bunch of knives and was "out of Canada or something". So as Google is my friend, I came upon Eric and On Scene Tactical. And low and behold, he makes a sheath for my Echo.. I e-mailed him and asked if he could put a Firesteel holder on it.. He assured me it wouldnt be a problem.. And so not much longer, I recieved this in the mail...

Its about as perfect as I could expect.. It holds the knife perfectly, and releases with a slight tug.. I would carry this upside down on my pack with no worries.. The Firesteel holder holds the Firesteel just a snug as the knife.. Overall I really cant find any faults with it, and its one of the rare times that you get exactly what you want.. Thanks Eric..

That does look really good. I think alot of times the sheath is nearly as important as the knife. I think that raises your whole set up at least a couple of notches. I'm jealous.

Eric is "The Man Of Kydex"
I have 3 (or is it 4?) of his sheaths and they are top shelf all the way.
