OK,first you need to tape the blade to prevent accidents & possibly a run to the ER which will cost you a bundle, thus depleting your JK knife funds.
I whipped up this little mockup knife out of kydex for todays lesson.
And the tools I used.....scissors,forceps,& a lighter.
First loop the cord through both holes starting with the front hole, then bring it through the front hole & rear hole again, leaving about 8-10" hanging out the rear hole.
The next 2 pics show how it looks so far,2 strands on one side & a single on the other.
Then take the front strand & bring it under & loop it through the hole.
Then over the top & through the hole again.
Then over the top again wrapping it over the 2 strands.
Then bring it under the bottom & tuck it under the single strand.
Repete for however many loops you want for each pass.(I went with 2 as you can see)
When on the 2 strand side only go under one of the strands,I went with the loose one hanging out the rear hole so it would be easier to get the cord through.
Here's where the forceps come in handy...the end where it's crowded.
Now I took the 2 ends & looped them through the rear hole as many times as I could force them through,
one over the top & the other under making sure they are coming out of the hole in opposite directions so you can tie them off.
I tried 2 different ways of tying the ends as you can see in the last 2 pics.
Sorry for the quality of the pics, but you get the idea I hope.
There ya go guys,my first tutorial, hope I was clear enough.
Any questions,just ask.
And if anyone has a better way to tie off the ends I would love to hear it,thats the best I could do with my limited knot tying abilities.
Oh yeah it took 4' of cord for the mockup so I'd go with 6-7' for the LRK+.
And remember to keep pulling the cord tight as you wrap it to keep it looking good with out any loose spots.(I didn't because I was in a hurry
