How long should I wait?

I placed an order with Texas Knifemaker supply on May 9th, I have ordered three other times from them, and I always received the order in under a week. Sometime around the 20th I emailed them to check on my order figuring something was on backorder, or maybe it took them longer than usual to ship it. All they did was email me a copy of my order. It has now been 3weeks since I placed my order, and I don't want to be a pain in the butt, but I am a little curious what is up with my order. How long does it normally take to recieve an order from TKS? Three weeks isn't that long, and I am not complaining. It is just longer than my previous orders have taken, and I am wondering when I should start getting concerned, that maybe my order was lost in the mail? So what is your experience in waiting for shipments from TKS, when should I contact them again if I dont see the package?
Thanks for the help
Kyle

Kile, it's nice that you want to behave like a gentleman, but its your money. i would give them a friendly call in the morning and just say that you have never waited this long before and wanted to make sure the order has not been lost. i am a fulltime maker and i can't wait that long.

Kyle I think 3 weeks is 2 weeks too long. I get 3 or 4 day service from K&G and they have cute sounding girls on the phone too. Bruce B

kile, call them. I have never waited for more than a week for an order from TKS. It sounds like something is amiss.

Email them or give them a call, they do have a toll free number. Alice and Lance have always been more than helpful.

I am curious as to why something of this nature is being aired on this forum prior to a final conclusion of the situation.

Probably because it has never happened to him before and he is not sure what to do.
He's not posting a GBU, he's posting an adice please.

I was not posting to try to hurt any company's reputation or cause any problems. I have nothing against TKS. I thought getting my earlier shipments in under a week was exceptional service, and I didn't expect to get them so soon. I figured three weeks was about right, but since I got my earlier shipments so soon I was wondering if something was wrong, I didn't want to seem like a pain in the ass if I called them after only three weeks, when it normally takes much longer than that. I was just curious how long the norm is because I had no idea. I am just a punk kid who has made three kit knives, ground 10 blades, and finished three of them. I have bought all of my materials from tks, and I am very happy with them. I am sorry if I offended anybody.

There is no way that you could be a "PITA" to those folks, I've got that part covered, just ask 'em!

I must apologize but here lately on this forum there has been occasion to slam this supplier or that supplier and it has been unwarranted. Some of it has been misunderstandings, some of it has been down right vindictiveness. Some folks may be better off to cool off and count to 10 prior to leaping on a situation and trashing a supplier.

If you've been taken advantage of by a supplier then that may be different. If you just have your differences, this, in my opinion, is not the place for it. That is between you and them.

Kile, by the way. the statement immediately above does not refer to you in any way. I just wanted to make sure that you knew that. You were just concerned about your order, that's all.

Some things need to be addressed on the forums not to air durty laundry,Something that have been postedhave been to help out the maker,Nathan House had so trouble with Rob Frink he found a better deal on contact wheels and posted it for the makers to
see that they could find better buys out there, some makers of knife making equiment
from what Ihave seen and heard are just getting greedy because there is a market for
it Mr Frink had his grinders at 695 and in about
a month after seeing how many people were interested in them the price jumped up a 100
dollars, now he has Koval looking at them,
I have personaly emailed him in the past week
about getting some contact wheels from him and gotten no answer. So I think some thing
should be brought out. TX supplies is a great place I am sue a phone call will take care of it.
