How many muscle car owners do we have here?

State your car and current status (repairing, restoring, running, rodding or rocking...:D)

I'll start off

1971 Chevy Nova

My wife's '65 plymouth Valiant was one of the few to roll out of the factory with a 273 and console shifter instead of the slant six and pushbutton tranny. Okay, not really a muscle car the same way the 'Cuda was but still a pretty fun little coupe. It runs alright with the original motor but the rear end just went out. Talking about finding a donor pumpkin at the junkyard, maybe an 8 3/4" so we have more options for gearing.

My '65 VW is neither here nor there. With a single port 1600 it doesn't fit in the "muscle" catagory and it was converted into a Baja many years ago so it's not really a "classic" any longer. But it's a blast. 205s up front, 235s out back, a good foot of daylight under the pan (without a body lift). Dual glasspacks give her a throaty growl unlike the bumble bee noises the lowered Hondas make. An external oil filter gives me an extra quart and the roof mounted oil cooler is WAY bigger than the little stock one. SCAT drag-fast shifter has the reverse lockout. She's pretty qiuck off the line just because of weight (fenders, trunk, nose, roof scoop and cowl are all fiberglass).

P.S. I think the Nova would make an awesome sleeper. :D

Two months ago traded my '96 Impala SS. At age 58, I said to myself, "Self, it's time to grow up. Be responsible. Get the Chrysler 300 Touring with 6 cyl. Plenty of power for any reasonable purpose. Better gas mileage." Then I got to the dealer, looked at the midnight blue 300C hemi sitting there, and said, "Nah. I can grow up later." Love the thing so far.

My first new car was a 1969 442 Olds. However, I just got the 400 cu in engine, the small one.

'69 Camaro....hopped with little cam....would lay a nice 11 on the road with no problem...push it a little harder, front would want to come off ground...but alas, as MikeH, I decided it was not practical for an old fart...traded for a Jeep Rubicon...now that's a Jeep!

93 Mustang 5.0 here, a few mods, haven't cracked open the engine yet. I have a cam and rockers in the closet though. :)

Not a muscle car either, but my avatar is a '67 Datsun roadster, restored and running. They only made a thousand that year and mine is the high performance (150 hp) version, number 325. I've owned it since '74.

Hey, I'm just looking into getting one of those! Ragtop. Any nasty surprises I should be looking for before I hand over the cash?

Any photos available of yours? :)

I wish this was a muscle car you used to own thread...but I'd get too bummed...I've owned a few, sold them when babies were born...miss em like crazy sometimes...especially on warm summer evenings around dusk..
My project rig is a 75 blazer with a full convert top...suspension and body lifted...built 350

1968 Mustang Fastback -- she's in storage awaiting more funds for paint; among other things.

Don't know if it qualifies as a muscle car per se, but I have an '02 Corvette Z06 :D , stock at the moment...

'92 Mustang LX. It's my daily driver, but it gets modded as my budget and time can afford. Runs 19.7's at 68 because it's a 2.3L...my dad is ridiculously paranoid of "fast" cars, so I'm still working on him to allow the 2.3T swap (still live at home, so this matters).

So far it's got dual exhaust, Eibach Pro-Kit, GT swaybars, subframe connectors and some poly. Sitting in my garage, and going in within the week (with luck), are 5.0 front brakes with Hawk pads, and a full set of Bilsteins. I also converted the car from automatic to five-speed over last Christmas break. :)

If Corvettes qualify, I'm in. 2003 Millenium Yellow coupe. The bad part is my wife has taken it over.

I think the term "muscle car" implies mainly American cars from the 60's and 70's, at least that's my definition for them....
My Audi S4 is a European car and therefore not really a muscle car per definition. But it's fast even though and it has a lot of muscles!
2,7 ci, Biturbo, 310 HP, 510 Nm (torque), from 0 - 100 km/h in 5.2 sec.!
It's a hell of fun and I like it very much. ;)
Btw it's a station wagon so I can load a lot of stuff too.....

69' Mustang Mach1, SCJ in raven black.
428, 4 speed, 3:91:1 rear.

and I'm thinking of selling it :(

I have an LX 5.0 ragtop.
Top motors have lasted 5 years for me. checkout 50resto.com for parts before you go to the dealer or junkyard. corral.net is a good Mustang site.
Get a 5-speed if you can. I have an AOD. They can move, but the overdrive band is weak and will burn out on you if you aren't easy on it. Not a big deal- keep it in D when around town (45 and under) and downshift manually when you're at highway speed and need passing gear.
