Well I have always liked knives and had a collection of cheap knives when I was younger. Now I have regained the itch and can actually afford some better knives, so I am getting back into it. Right now I am focussing on kershaw and getting ready to make the leap into zt knives. Since the skyline was the knife that made me fall in love with kershaw I cant think of a better one to build a collection of. So how many variants have been made? And yes when I get paid on tuesday I am going to order the forum knife assuming there are any left.

1084 - black, fixed satin blade
1084OR - orange, fixed satin blade
1760 - black, satin blade
1760BRNCKT - brown, black blade
1760DAM - black, damascus blade
1760OR - orange, satin blade
1760RD - red, satin blade
1760RDSO - red, satin blade with "Snap-On" engraving
Blade Forums version - blue, FFG s30v stonewash blade

i think that's all of them.

no problem. if you get into franken-skylines, there are many more variations you can do. use the black blade from the BRNCKT in the orange handle, red handle, etc. if you really wanted a huge collection you could do satin, black, damascus, and snap-on versions of every color... although that would get quite expensive. here are a couple of mine:

i still have to get my order in on a forum version as well. if i could ever get through a week without buying a knife that is actually available, i would already have it pre-ordered. :p

lol nice franken-skylines but I imagine since I am spreading my buying out that some of these are going to be hard to find just one of, let alone enough to make all the variations in all the different scale colors out there hahaha.

some of them (1760DAM, 1760RD, 1760RDSO) are already almost impossible to find. 1760BRNCKT's are getting pretty scarce as well. 1760OR's are readily available at the moment, but who knows how long that will last. i would pick one up now while kershawguy has them on the cheap.

ya I am probably gonna order the orange one tomorrow along with the forum one

I had no idea about the fixed blades. Might have to order the orange one soon.

you won't regret it, the skyline profile works very well as a fixed blade. mine was also delivered sharper than any other knife i have ever had.

good call!

Is satin finish the same as bead-blasted ?

i use them interchangeably, i don't know if it technically is or not.

Are the colored variations limited? Any number on how much were made of each color?

everything other than the 1760 is limited to some degree, although i can't speak to exact numbers.

damascus and red are almost impossible to find now days. i think there are few brown that comes up now and then on ebay. orange, last time i checked, is still available at few places. fixed blades are still available.

Well i just put my order in for a forum knife and orange model from kershawguy. Guess I am on my way.

I am so relieved that I found this thread. I had been looking for a couple days now for the Skyline variations. I think that's what I'm going to start my collection with. :D

There is also a ducks unlimited but ive only seen a couple, model is just 1760 but has a duck's head etched on one side of the blade.

I really want a skyline, but I do not want the standard version. Do I have to go through kershaw guy to get a variation, or how do I go about that? Thanks for the help.

Damascus and black blades are not easy to come by. Scales, you can just buy after market.
