I would like to get some info on how to diamond suffaces.
I talk to an old guy who makes tools and he said that i should just take a cork and some carborundum-dust and scweek it in.
I was thinking on using the eraser from a pencil in my drillpress and the dust.
How do you guys do.
(it for the titanium liners and the clip on my soon to be made folders)

On guns we called that jeweling or engine turning. Practice a bit before you use it on the good material- Brownells gun smithing supply sold a tool and I'm sure still does , that you use in the drill press that does a very good job. Inexpensive too as I remember.

Tom is right. Brownell's Gun Supply sells a holder that uses a 1/4" Cratex rod. Works great and not too expensive. Alternate method is to make your own holder and get the Cratex rods from some of the suppliers.

I use a craytex tool and a micro lath/mill to jewel my liners. I mount the liner with three screws to a wooden block. Using three screws allows you to remove one screw and keep your pattern going. I over lap my swirls to achive the diamond pattern. It is a easy but time consuming process. I would not recomend doing this free hand. The diamond pattern develops from precisely moving the liner in set increments.

Cratex works great. You can also make a paste
from grinding grit and grease or oil . THen use a delrin rod or soft plastic rod. I use the red dental cratex and a holder I made..
Works great.
