Today I had the chance to swing by one of the pawn shops I used to stalk . There I found a Camillus automatic knife. It is the orange one that was issued to the para-troopers. It has the main blade that is auto, and a hook blade for cords. My problem is, The blade fires out fine but the blade is loose. Most of the time it fires out the blade flies forward and does not have the chance to lock. How can I get the blade tighter?

Thanks,
John

I think they are all like that...

The problem is probably not that the blade is loose, but that there is nothing to lock the blade in the open position while the button is pressed down. If you hold the knife horizontally when you open it, with the spine of the knife oriented towards the ground, you may find that it locks open more reliably.

Thanks for the reply. I think this one has a little bit more blade play than most. It has been used, and had the tip broke off. I am currently reworking the edge and repointing it. I tried to tap the pin of the blade with a hammer, but all that did was tighten up the lanyard loop.

Thanks again,
John

The blade pivot is a bushing that is peened to the liners, under the scale.
You have to remove the scales to tighten it.

Thanks for the info Mr. Bill. I think I may hold off because every time I have removed a scale, it was to replace it with something else. I will destroy this knife if I remove the scales.

Thanks again,
John
