How to sharpen a VG10 Endura?

Hi,

I have a plain edge Endura, I went camping and used it to shave wood for starting a fire. Now it won't cut paper. How should I sharpen it? I have a Sharpmaker, do I use this or do I strop it (I have a home made leather strop charged with LeeValley green compound)?

I'd run it down the corners of the brown Sharpmaker stones on the 40-degree angle setting for 10-15 strokes (more if it's really dull). Then just work your way down - brown flats, white corners, white flats - until you get it sharp to your liking.
